The school office is open Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Please feel free to call or come to the office if you have any questions or concerns.

[Clarification ] While the office opens for parents and staff at 7:00am, students may not be on campus unattended until 7:30am. The only exception is for students who arrive early to eat breakfast. Students purchasing breakfast may be in the MPR beginning at 7:15am, but may not be unattended in any other part of the campus until 7:30am.

All students must have the following information in order to register at Mesquite:

1. Immunization Records

2. Original Certified Birth Certificate

3. 2 Proofs of Residency- Mortgage statement or rental agreement, AND a utility or phone bill. Proof of residency must show current address along with parent or legal guardian’s name.

4. Proof of Legal Guardianship/Custody- If a guardian other than a natural parent will be registering the student, a court document showing current guardianship must be provided at the time of registration. If divorced, please provide legal documentation of custody agreement.

Mesquite Elementary’s attendance boundaries include homes in Rita Ranch, north of Rita Road and west of Solomon Ave, and La Estancia. If you are new to the Vail School District and live in Sycamore Park, Vista Montana, Desert Stone or Benson Highway Frontage Rd., your child will need to register at Desert Willow Elementary. If you live in one of these developments and currently have a child attending school at Mesquite, then you have the option of registering your child at Mesquite or Desert Willow (Desert Willow’s Website)

Mesquite Elementary School services students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. The school attendance boundaries includes students from neighborhoods known as Rita Ranch and La Estancia. Our population is made up of students from households ranging from stay at home parents to two income families needing both before and after school child care. Many of our students come from military families as we are located near Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. We also have the IBM/University of Arizona Science and Technology Center within our attendance boundaries. IBM and Raytheon are major employers of many of our families.

Families can apply to attend Mesquite under the open enrollment policy. We are flexible and understand the needs of families that we serve. To round out our population, Mesquite also serves a handful of students that are bused from a rural area in our District. Mesquite currently serves over 680 students, grades Kindergarten through fifth grade.
