Hello! My name is Diane Vargo and I am the proud principal of Mesquite, a highly performing elementary school. I joined the Mesquite family in 2001 teaching first grade, eventually teaching fifth grade and serving as the Student Achievement Teacher. In 2012, I became Senita Valley’s Assistant to the Principal. Two years later, I returned to lead Mesquite as Principal and implemented our Chinese Immersion Program, the first and only language immersion program in our district.
Mesquite has earned highly prestigious awards such as the National Blue Ribbon Award in Academic Excellence in 2014 and 2021 as well as earning four A+ Awards from the Arizona Educational Foundation.
I am a mother of three children who attended Mesquite. We love Mesquite Elementary and have spent many wonderful years here! It feels like my second home. I am a Vail parent who is truly invested in our community.
I believe we do what’s best for our students each and every day. Our teachers challenge our students each day, pushing them to their full potential. It is our goal to create a positive culture for your children to learn and grow. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve Mesquite alongside our amazing teachers and staff.
